Quick answers
How do I restore my purchases? Open Settings in the app, tap “All packs and plans,” then tap “Restore Purchases.” Use the same Apple Account you bought with.
I bought a pack but it has not downloaded. Packs download once and need an internet connection for that first download. Connect to Wi-Fi, open the app, and the pack should start downloading. If it does not, check that your device has free storage, close and reopen the app, and try Restore Purchases. Once a pack is downloaded, it works offline.
Does the app work without a connection? Yes. All knots, rigs and species work offline. The only thing that needs a connection is the one-time download of a pack you unlocked.
How do I cancel the yearly plan? On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions, choose TackleKept, and tap Cancel. The 2-week free trial ends automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it finishes. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Can I get a refund? Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and request a refund for the purchase.
Why do the bite times say “approximate location”? The app has not received your location. Open Settings on your device, tap Privacy and Security, then Location Services, choose TackleKept, and select “While Using the App.” The Today tab will then use your real position. Your location stays on your device.
Can I share my purchases with my family? Purchases are not shared through Family Sharing, so each person needs to buy or subscribe on their own Apple Account.
Where are my trip notes and photos stored? Only on your device. I do not have a copy. If you delete the app or change phones without restoring a backup, they will not carry over, so keep device backups turned on if they matter to you.
What does the free version include? A free set of knots, rigs and species, plus Today, the Rig Builder, and My Tackle. Packs add more content for specific kinds of fishing: Saltwater Inshore, Saltwater Offshore, Freshwater Bass, and Trout & Fly. The yearly plan and the lifetime unlock include all packs.
Which devices does it support? iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later.
